The other day I was thinking about if I was really to go all out to please God what does he really want. Then I thought to myself I know, to love Him with everything I am and to love my neighbour as myself. That's what I have heard all my Christian life, its just so simple. the problem is we usually don't want to love till it hurts. It may be a simple idea but it is not easy that's for sure.
The other night it just occurred to me if I want to love God there is no magic formula God wants us to have faith. That means we have to go to his word and learn the lessons he is trying to teach us. God showed me by taking the ten commandment, all the you shall not's and personalize them then it could be much easier for me to understand how to love him and love others. I also got the 10 I do's to balance out the I do not's.
How to love God
1. Don't put anything above him. 1. Make him number one.
2. Don't adore false notions of who he is. 2. Adore him for who he is.
3. Don't misuse his name. 3.Value the use of his name.
4. Don't forget to rest on Sunday. 4. Make Sunday a day to rest and reflect on who he is.
How to love others
5. Don't disrespect your mother or father. 5. Value their advice and bless them.
6.Don't hurt People. 6.Think the best of people and bless them.
7. Don't cheat on your wife. 7.keep her your special one and only.
8. Don't take other peoples things. 8.Give to others and pray for them.
9.Don't slander or say false things. 9. say good and truthful things about people.
10.Don't eagerly desire others peoples things. 10.Be content with what you have and the most of it.
